With over 20 years in urban education, Dr. Negrón is a resonant leader who motivates and inspires others by sharing hope and an optimistic view of the future. Dr. Negrón is a systems thinker and a creative, tenacious leader who sets high goals for achievement and success through accountability. As a reflective educator, Dr. Negrón continually engages others in the reflective process to ensure high expectations for student performance.

Dr. Negrón has instructed at all levels of public education, providing a unique perspective of the connection between all grades. She began her career as a math and science teacher in a bilingual transition program in Windham Public Schools, where she later became a middle school principal. Dr. Negrón also taught and served as principal of a magnet high school in New Haven Public Schools, where she most recently served as Director of Instruction and Early Childhood. In addition, Dr. Negrón was an adjunct professor, preparing school leaders, in the Educational Leadership Department at Southern Connecticut State University.

In her role as Director of Instruction and Early Childhood for New Haven Public Schools, Dr. Negrón led a cohort of 11 principals, including coaching and evaluating principals on all aspects of school leadership within magnet, Montessori, early childhood, and neighborhood schools, while overseeing the district’s early childhood programs, including 8 Head Start sites, 6 School Readiness sites, and 33 Pre-K magnet classrooms
