The Trust has identified three primary funding interests in their Community Centered Prevention issue area: Opportunities for Physical Activity, Access to Healthy Foods and Comprehensive Prevention in a Community Setting. Comprehensive Prevention in a Community Setting includes efforts to improve health and well-being in a single setting such as a school/school district, child care facility, faith-based organization, community space, or worksite. Strategies could include: development/implementation of wellness policies, procurement policy changes and implementation, and programs and policies that address active living, healthy eating, and other prevention strategies in an integrated fashion. Efforts should be comprehensive and tailored enough to impact staff, clients, and vendors in the selected setting. Proposals are limited by the 2016-2017 Tier designation of the county served (see website for list of Tier 1 counties).
