The Rapides Foundation invests funding in improving two important health behaviors: (1) tobacco prevention and control and (2) nutrition and physical activity with respect to overweight/obesity, among the residents of central Louisiana. Up to $300,000 over a three-year period will be awarded for projects that support one or more of the following: Tobacco use prevention and control, Healthy eating – increasing access to and consumption of nutritious foods, Physical activity – safe places for exercise, Substance and alcohol abuse prevention. Grant proposals should impact residents within Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, or Winn parishes. Letter of Intent is due April 14.
