The Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) provides grants to local educational agencies and community-based organizations to initiate, expand, and improve physical education for students in grades K–12. Grant recipients must implement programs that help students make progress toward meeting State physical education standards. Recommended award range is $200,000 – $800,000 per year, with an expected average size of $500,000 per year. Awards are for 1, 2, or 3 years and the expected number of grants awarded is 15.
