Theme IV: Classroom Teachers (6wk)




“CATCH” students being healthy! Distribute Caught You Being Healthy cards (English/Spanish).

Some ideas…
  • Place the cards (English/Spanish) in student take-home folders, send cards home in the mail/email, and/or distribute the cards at parent/teacher conferences.
  • Post (at least) one picture or video of a Home Team member engaged in a healthy behavior. Use #CATCHhometeam.



Use one or two of the Home Team materials or newsletters from your CATCH grade level Go For Health Curriculum (Kindergarten/1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th).

Perhaps you can...
  • Ask a Home Room parent to help organize the materials for you.
  • Coordinate this as a grade level project.



Host a grade level CATCH signage contest to promote a CATCH Family Fun Event. Invite parents to be the judges and organize incentives.

Keep in mind...



Start your day off right! Breakfast can provide you with the energy you need to be active and successful each day. Try to eat a healthy breakfast every day.

Some ideas...

  • Toasted oats cereal with no added sugar. Add skim milk and bananas.
  • Whole-wheat toast with peanut butter or low-fat cheese with fruit.
  • Oatmeal with fruit and nuts (e.g., blueberries or dried cranberries or raisins and pecans) and skim milk.
  • Yogurt with granola and fruit.
