Introduction & Objectives




Jump rope is an excellent conditioning activity. It improves cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, timing, and rhythm. The following jump rope activities use “tricks” or skills to motivate and challenge students, and the games are structured so that students of all skill levels can participate. Students should be provided with instruction and ample practice time on the skills before they use them in game activities.


These activities:

  1. Develop cardiovascular fitness through fun jump rope games. 
  2. Provide practice opportunities for basic individual jump rope skills. 
  3. Motivate and challenge students with jump rope activities.
