CATCH Kids Club Activity Cards
Staff can either select their own activities from the folders below or follow the sample activity plans provided. For each of the 30-minute activity sessions, plan for at least two activities with time for students to warm-up and cool down appropriately. (Note: a third activity is listed on the session plans if there is time available.)
Each activity card contains the name of the activity, grade level, equipment needed, movement skills to be taught, organization (set up), description of how to play the activity, and occasionally a diagram. Activities are sequenced in each section from easy to more difficult activities.
For more information, see How to Use CATCH Kids Club.
Warm-Up & Cool-Down
The activities in this section are short activities designed to prepare participants for more vigorous movement when used as a warm-up and helps provide closure and cools down participants when used at the end of a session as a cool down.
Go Fitness activtities emphasize fitness components associated with a healthy lifestyle: cardiovascular efficiency, muscular strength, flexibility, wellness and nutrition.
Recognizing the scope of movement and physical activity extends beyond traditional sports, the Go Activity sections embrace the notion that participants need to be exposed to a variety of movement possibilities. The broad goals of this section are to have fun, create interest, improve skills, foster fair play, and encourage participation in movement and physical activity.
