Denise Carpenter is a thirty-three year public educator. She was a general education and special education teacher, assistant principal of special education, middle school, and high school curriculum. She was appointed as principal of Riverdale High in 2008. Currently, she is the Chief Student Support Officer in Jefferson. Carpenter holds a B.A. in Social Studies Education, a M.Ed. in Educational Administration, and a Juris Doctorate. She is a certified Turnaround Specialist. Under her leadership, Riverdale High achieved an “A” report card for 14-15, her last year as principal, which represented the first “A” for a traditional high school in Jefferson.
