Catch Announces its Partnership with Let’s Move! Active Schools

Today, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Let’s Move! Active Schools – part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative – alongside eight other fantastic national organizations, bringing the total collaborative to 42 partners. This collaborative is dedicated to an Active School environment, where students participate in daily physical activity, before, during and after school. With more than 25 years of research behind CATCH, we know healthy lifestyles and physical fitness has an impact on academic achievement  and leads to better attendance for students.

“Let’s Move! Active Schools has created a lot of awareness about the importance of physical activity for schoolchildren, said Duncan Van Dusen, Executive Director of CATCH Global Foundation. For schools that want to progress to a full Coordinated School Health model, CATCH offers the program with the most scientific evidence of effectiveness. We are delighted to join the national collaborative, and are pleased to bring expertise and resources to at-risk schools seeking a best-practices school health implementation.”

As a proud partner, CATCH Global Foundation will fund two CATCH district packages for Let’s Move! Active Schools enrolled schools that have completed their online assessment. Each package will  include curriculum, training, equipment and evaluation support to implement evidence-based physical activity and health programs.
