“Brighter Bites: Increasing Access to Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Nutrition Education for Low-Income Children and Families”
Monday, June 26th • 2:45pm-3:45pm
Speakers: Emily Kelley (Brighter Bites) and Joey Walker (CATCH Global Foundation)
Most U.S. children do not eat the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables (F&V), placing them at risk for obesity and chronic diseases later in life. Brighter Bites is a school-based food co-op program designed to increase access to fresh F&V and nutrition education for low-income children and their families. Learn how this comprehensive approach is moving the needle on healthy eating while also yielding financial benefits related to decreased food costs and improved long-term health.
