“The Sunbeatables™”
2E HEALTH/WELLNESS • 1:15 – 4:30
The Sunbeatables™ Program is an evidence-based program that aims to educate teachers, parents, and children about sun protection. The Sunbeatables™ preschool curriculum consists of five units. Each unit includes four activities. Activities include a puppet show, sun safety songs, science experiments, and more! This will be a hands-on workshop where we’ll practice all the activities included in the FREE curriculum kit. Children meet superhero characters, Ray and the Sunbeatables, who have sun safe superpowers to protect against the harmful effects of UV rays. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the US. It is estimated that 1 in 5 people will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Sunburn during childhood is a major risk factor for the melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Help protect the children you care for from sunburn while you have fun and learn some new classroom activities. Participants must register for 2E and 3E to attend both sessions.
