The SHAPE America National Convention & Expo is the leading professional development opportunity for health and physical education professionals — from preK–12 educators who teach our country’s youth about the benefits of living a healthy, physically active lifestyle, to university professors who conduct much-needed research and teach our industry’s future professionals.

We are looking forward to this year’s SHAPE America National Convention, and hope to connect if you will be attending too!

CATCH us in action at our booth and educational presentations that will provide you with valuable resources for your school’s health and wellness efforts:

CATCH Physical Education

Wednesday, March 29th
1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Demo Area 1
CATCH PE is a fun, developmentally appropriate physical education curriculum for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Our expert trainer, a former educator of 14 years, will create an engaging environment for educators to learn movement skills, physical literacy, and social development activities that are evidence-based, easy to implement, and accessible for all students. CATCH PE increases student motivation and participation in moderate-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) while emphasizing non-elimination games. Come experience the fun!

Empowering Families for Youth Vaping Prevention

Thursday, March 30th
10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
Summit Building of the Seattle Convention Center – 427
Over 2 million youth in America are vaping today. Attached to each young person is a family who may be unaware, concerned, confused, and/or unprepared to help their child resist when exposed to vaping. Learn how CATCH My Breath, a no-cost, evidence-based youth vaping prevention program consisting of four core health education lessons for students, uses supportive resources to engage families in a holistic approach to prevention.

Dance Your Way Around the World: SEL & Cultural Learning

Thursday, March 30th
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Summit Building of the Seattle Convention Center – 420-422
Research shows that when compared to other kinds of physical activity, dance consistently results in more significant changes in overall well-being, increased self-awareness, and gains in self-confidence. In addition, cultural learning through dance helps students to develop respect for other cultures and pride in their own. In this session, participants will experience these results firsthand as they tune in to their own Social and Emotional Development while learning easy and fun dances from around the world.

Come by our booth to also participate in our MIND-HEART-BODY play-it-forward game, and a chance to win some exciting prizes!
