This session will highlight current trends in youth prevention while providing examples of youth-led policy strategies. The panel will look at efforts in Washington to motivate educators to relook at their students who use nicotine products and consider alternative policies and practices in addressing use; provide an overview of the Tobacco Free Florida youth advocacy organization: Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT); and explain the Catch My Breath (CMB) program designed at the University of Texas and based on Social Cognitive Theory model of prevention and aligns with the National Health Education Standards.
