Millions of dollars will be distributed to over 1,500 school districts

Due to a strong united front by educators and public health advocates, an instrumental milestone has been accomplished for the protection, safety, and well-being of thousands of youth across our country.

Over 1,500 school districts took a stand against the youth vaping epidemic by filing a class action lawsuit against JUUL Labs, Inc., the maker of JUUL e-cigarettes that were intentionally and harmfully marketed to youth. These school districts have triumphed in having their voices heard and a settlement of millions of dollars has been granted for these districts.

The CATCH family has not only been at the forefront in following this monumental achievement, but also in serving as a long-trusted expert to school districts in substance misuse prevention. Our program, CATCH My Breath, is a SAMHSA-recommended youth vaping prevention program for grades 5th-12th with published evidence shown to reduce students’ likelihood to vape. Used in all 50 states, CATCH My Breath is aligned to national and state health education standards.

Whether your school district was a plaintiff in this lawsuit or not, we are here to support you and your staff with best prevention practices and resources that promote a vape-free life for students. Our high-quality curriculum is easy to implement for educators and engaging for students, and our accompanied professional development trainings ignite community, self-efficacy, and hope.
