Brooks is the Vice President of Operations for CATCH Global Foundation where he oversees the technology, marketing, and financial operations departments.
Brooks has a background in public health and worked previously as Senior Communications Specialist at the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health. He has an extensive CATCH history and has been involved with the program for more than 15 years. He completed his graduate thesis on a social marketing campaign to promote physical activity and water consumption that he co-developed for the CATCH middle school program.
Brooks graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin, earning a B.A. in Biology, and received his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from the UTHealth School of Public Health. Brooks has been highly involved in the public health and public policy arenas in Texas, previously serving on the board of directors for It’s Time Texas, a statewide nonprofit organization focused on dramatically improving the landscape of health and wellness in Texas, and the steering committee for the Partnership for a Healthy Texas, a coalition of over 50 organizations that has set out to identify and support policy that will have the most impact on the obesity epidemic in Texas.
When not at work, Brooks enjoys spending time outdoors, jogging and biking in his East Austin neighborhood, and camping in the Hill Country with his wife Kelly, daughter Maeve, and son Finley.
