John Weidman

John Weidman is the Director of Global Advancement for the Catch Global Foundation. As a member of CGF’s senior leadership team he works to create, execute, and oversee worldwide development through government, philanthropic, and corporate partnerships and leads the Catch Promise philanthropic
initiative.

John is an experienced nonprofit professional with over 25 years of experience in organizational strategy, communications, policy advocacy and staff management. As EVP of The Food Trust, a Philadelphia- based nonprofit working to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food, he provided oversight for the organization’s national and regional food access campaigns and worked closely with the President on organizational development and strategy. John helped conceptualize and implement the Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative and has worked to create Healthy Food Financing programs in more than 10 states. He also led efforts in Philadelphia to ban soda and sugary drinks in all schools. He holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania. John enjoys fishing, swimming, and spending time with family in the Pocono mountains, and snorkeling in the Florida Keys.
