Laura Aavang is the Director of Technology & Design for CATCH Global Foundation.
After growing up outside of Chicago, Laura studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she obtained a B.S. in Media and Cinema Studies and minor in Math & Statistics. Her passion for educational outreach grew while working for University of Illinois Extension as a graphic designer and content marketer. She also has experience in video production, creating educational videos for Extension’s YouTube channel, as well as working behind-the-scenes on the set of a live TV gardening program. While living in Austin, Laura freelanced as a graphic designer for the SXSW film festival and completed a full stack web development bootcamp.
In her free time, Laura enjoys watching documentaries and spending time outdoors.
