Topic: How We Can Better Communicate About Health
Duration: 64 minutes

Why should health messages be limited to the classroom or campus? If our goal is to create lasting health behavior change, we need to surround our audiences with positive, consistent health messages. This month’s CATCH webinar will examine ways we can “Amplify” our health messages through traditional and new media communications tactics, and “Coordinate” our messaging through new digital platforms. Our guests will explore: the science behind coordinated health messaging; a real-world example of message amplification through traditional media outreach; and, how a new digital platform for “Ray and the Sunbeatables™: A Sun-Safety Curriculum” can help coordinate health messages across a campus.

Steve Kelder, PhD, MPH
Co-director, Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living
Associate Regional Dean, The University of Texas School of Public Health in Austin
