Lia A Tavarez Sobalvarro

My name is Lia Tavarez Sobalvarro, and I am a sophomore at Rhode Island Nurses Institute MC Charter High School. I have been passionate about diminishing the usage of vapes in youth areas and educating the community on its dangers ever since I first joined the Tobacco Free Rhode Island Youth Ambassadors in 2022. I have since continued to advocate for more youth-centered education, and by being a member of the board, I hope to further increase its reach. In my personal time, you can find me at my desk creating a new piece of art or out with my friends. I am a big fan of the visual and performing arts, history, and enjoy trying out new cuisine! For the future, I envision myself choosing a career that places me back in the middle of my community.
